This chapter examined the relationship between eighth grade students’ science and mathematics achievements and the determining factors of science achievement using TIMSS 2019 data for Malaysia. A total of 7,065 students participated in TIMSS 2019 with an average score 488.08 and standard deviation 92.77 for science, and 488.24 with standard deviation 91.32 for mathematics. A significantly high correlation was observed between the two scores. The multiple regression analysis science achievement showed that mathematics scores, being male, always speak the language of test at home, having educated parents, students liking and valuing science as well as having confidence in science had a significant positive influence on science achievement. Efforts to improve science achievement should include strategies and activities that would motivate students to like learning mathematics and science, to appreciate the value of and have confidence in the two subjects.
